Check local dumpster permits, placement rules and rental time limits before scheduling delivery in northeastern Illinois or southeastern Wisconsin. Select your community below for the local authority, official sources and answers for your address.

Private property and public right-of-way are different

A driveway entirely on private property is usually the first location to assess. It does not automatically mean a permit is unnecessary. Streets, alleys, sidewalks and the grass parkway may be public right-of-way, even in front of your home. Ask the road authority before arranging placement there. For grass on private property, confirm local rules and let EcoBox check soil conditions and truck access.

How to use this guide

Confirm the municipality that governs the parcel, not just the mailing address. Unincorporated properties may need county zoning guidance and approval from the township or other road owner. HOA rules and construction-permit conditions can also affect placement.

Some local pages have a specific published rule; others identify the appropriate authority but still require confirmation. Where a community publishes specific rules, we cite them. Where it does not, we tell you who to ask. A missing published limit does not mean unlimited placement is allowed.

Rental extensions and permit deadlines

EcoBox rentals include 7 days. Additional charges accrue after day 7; see current extra-day pricing. If no local or permit deadline applies, arrange to keep the dumpster as long as you need, subject to availability. Contact EcoBox for a customized extended-rental quote. Local permit expiration dates and removal deadlines still apply.
